Felix Storch, Inc. Completes One Year
Employee Training Program

Assisted by a $248,000 grant from New York City SBS and the NYS Industrial Training Assistance Corp., and matched by $300,000 of its own investment, the Felix Storch Company recently concluded a one year training program, to improve and develop the skills of its New York City based labor force. Fifty one manufacturing based employees received training in lean manufacturing, quality control, electrical and refrigeration assembly, packaging and safety. Other workers received training in customer service, logistics and warehousing. Approximately 75 workers participated in some or all parts of the program.

The objective of the program was to offset the higher costs of manufacturing in New York City with productivity gains and higher worker skill levels to create more complex products in an efficient manner.

Shown are photographs of groups of employees receiving certificates for completion of approximately 200 to 400 hours of training over a year long period.
